Scientific & Technical Translation
Biomedical, pharmaceutical, engineering, and IT documentation handled by translators with domain qualifications.
Translating a publication is only half the job. The translated text needs to fit in the same space as the original - and it usually does not. Italian text is typically 15-20% longer than English. Arabic and Hebrew run right to left. Chinese needs different line-spacing. Desktop publishing for multilingual output requires a translator who understands the layout constraints and a DTP operator who can handle the language-specific formatting.
We work directly in InDesign, Quark, and Word layout files. When translation is complete, we pass the text to our DTP team who reflow the text, adjust column widths and font sizes, check that captions still align with their images, and produce print-ready PDFs in each language. You do not need to manage multiple suppliers.
We regularly produce multilingual versions of corporate brochures, product catalogues, exhibition materials, conference programmes, annual reports with print layouts, institutional publications, and educational materials. For e-publications, we can also deliver EPUB3 in multiple languages.
For large catalogue projects, we use translation memory to ensure that recurring product descriptions and standard boilerplate text remain consistent across editions and reduce your cost for revised editions.
